It's a bit different from our usual type of
client - but we were delighted when the Royal College of Art approached
us to supply 28 scaffolding towers for its famous summer show. We're
particularly proud to be included this year, since it marks th 150th
anniversary of the College's moving to its present South Kensington
home. To celebrate, the RCA is currently holding its largest and most
spectacular show yet -
The Great Exhibition 2007 - with the work of over 400 graduation
students currently on display. A unique feature of this year's show is
the vast tent in Kensington Gardens - across the road from the College
and close to the site of the original Great Exhibition of 1851 - which
houses the work of students in Design and Applied Arts. In keeping with
the "industrial aesthetic" concept of the tent, Paul Kuebler, MD of
Premier Plant Hire, worked in close liaison with the Curator's
Department to develop a structure of scaffolding towers, from which the
textile exhibits are suspended to great effect.
You can see Premier Plant Hire's towers - and the rest of the
impressive show - at The Great Exhibition 2007, RCA, Kensington Gore,
London SW7, from now until 28 June 2007. Admission is free of charge. |
